Todd Shely
Todd Shely is the founder and CEO of Grayhawk, a full-service home improvement company he first started up in Minnesota in 1987 before he moved down to Florida in the mid-2000s and set up the Florida company in 2005. He comes from an architecture and business background, and he grew Grayhawk organically over the years, starting with windows and doors, then adding remodeling in 2006 and roofing in 2008. These days he runs it alongside two co-owners, Troy Lezotte and Dana Novak.
The company sticks to Manatee and Sarasota counties on purpose, because staying local is the only way they can keep their service quality where they want it. They handle windows (including hurricane-impact and their own "Hawk series"), doors, roofing, siding, and remodeling, and one of their standouts is the 3-day bath, a solid-surface shower system which is done-right, plumber-installed, up-to-code and the answer to those plastic "1-day bath" companies you see on TV.
What really makes Grayhawk different is how they do business. There's an unconditional lifetime labor warranty with no fine print, pricing that's laid out to the penny, and a no-pressure approach where the price is just the price, no fake sales or discounts to rush you. It all ties back to their Bradenton showroom, where customers can see products and finishes in person before they sign. Todd will tell you that referrals and five-star reviews, not advertising, are what keep his prices low, and he points to 280,000 windows installed over the life of the company.
That reputation holds up online too, with a BBB A+ rating, strong Google standing of 4.8 stars, and GuildQuality scores, current Florida contractor licenses, "Top Roofer" recognition, a 2019 Bradenton Herald readers' favorite award, and a lot of involvement around the Manatee County community. Todd and the Grayhawk team are here and ready to build your dream home.
